Just letting y'all know that the Frame My Future Contest is over. I didn't win, but I appreciate the support so much(especially you
happywriter06!&hearts &hearts &hearts). The college was really supportive too. The head of the English Department called me in and demanded to know the details and how many times a person could vote, and the art Department was all over me about officially declaring my Art Studio minor, so that they could claim me as one of their own. *LMAO*
Anyway, I
did win the Conozca Su Corazon contest. This award was significantly less, but I'm still immensely grateful for it. *does a dance*
In terms of LJ, I've got another writing journal floating around out there, but I'm not sure how long I'm gonna keep it. Mostly it's a semi-private sphere for me to break this awful writer's block and get the creative (and possibly pervy) juices going again. If there's anything significant over there, I'll be sure to post back to this journal though. :) I want to keep links of it off this journal though because RL friends and family know about this journal.
Oh! I'd almost forgot. I surprised myself and went to see
Star Trek on my B-Day and whoa! I went into the movie in a horrible mood and came on smiling the rest of the evening.
*huggles Spock*
Speaking of things I forgot to add: I also recently got a hold of the
Anansi Boys audiobook. Why am I the last person to know how freaking awesome Neal Gaiman is? And for that matter, how awesome Lenny Henry (the reader for the audio)is? I highly recommend this book,
and the audio. Lenny Henry has got to be the master of accents. He did an accent that made me
swear my Grenadian grandmother was in the room and then three seconds later, he pulls out the flawless British accent.
But, I'm rambling. So in conclusion:
:: Star Trek was Awesome.
:: Neal Gaiman is made of Awesome.
:: And Lenny Henry is King.
